Well if you live here in Northwest Arkansas, then you woke up to 12°F temperatures and the most beautiful snowflakes you've ever seen! As I made my morning coffee and let my dog, Remi, out before going to church, I couldn't help but become mesmerized by the beauty that was falling all around me. I stood outside in the freezing weather for a good while just study some of the amazingly beautiful snowflakes that had fallen on the deck. Each with their own intricate beauty and unique design. If you look closely in the pictures below, you can some if their beautiful patterns.
I don't know what it is about snowflakes but they just get me! They are such a great reminder that God's design for every aspect of life is so individually unique. Not one snowflake is the same as another. Just as every human being on earth. If you really think about that for a second, it will blow your mind! Ephesians 2:10 reads, "For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do so". We are God's masterpiece, his work of art! Just as God creates each snowflake a design of it's own, so he did you and I.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14
God's character goes into the creation of every person. I find great joy and comfort in these verses and I felt led to share with you all. I hope that you can find joy and comfort in them too.
All the snowflakes and cold weather made me hungry for something warm and comforting on a cold day. What better meal for cold weather like this than a tasty grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of tomato soup?! I was first introduced to the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo when I lived in the Chi Omega House at The University of Arkansas. It was hands down the most wanted meal (besides Chicken Finger Friday and Taco Tuesday), and it was delicious!
I put a little spin on my grilled cheese sandwich. I added some rotisserie seasoned chicken for some protein. I don't get too fancy when it comes to a quick and easy soup, so yes, I used canned soup! There are plenty of wonderful homemade tomato soup recipes online, but sometimes you just don't have that much time to play in the kitchen. :) See my recipe below!
Until next time,
