Setting 2017 Goals and Achieving Them

January 3, 2017

Happy New Year!

Well it's officially 2017.  So much excitement, motivation, and determination to make 2017 better than the last year! I am a big believer in setting yearly and quarterly goals, both personally, spiritually, and professionally.  However, I'll be the first to admit that I tend to fall to the wayside on keeping up with my goals and checking in with myself time to time.  SO I am making a plan to stay on top of them this year and I wanted to share it with you too!

SETTING YOUR GOALS

When you think about all the things you want to achieve in the next year, it can probably be overwhelming if you are an ambitious individual like myself.  So I like to start by sitting down in a quiet and cozy spot with a cup of coffee, notepad and pen and just write it out!  I am a very visual person and writing things downs always helps me see things clearly.

A few tips:

-Brainstorm and think clearly about attainable goals for the year

-Don't overwhelm yourself or write down too many goals, I like to pick 3-5 goals for each aspect of my life (personal, spiritual, professional)

-Don't give yourself unattainable goals.... by all means be aggressive, but don't set yourself up for failure.

-Under each goal, write a few ways that you are going to start trying to attain that goal in the first quarter of the year, it helps you find a place to start and acts a guide if you find yourself slacking later down the road

-Clean it up - once you've set your goals, write them out clearly, this year I've planned to print my out, frame it, and hang it up somewhere that I have to look at it everyday!

I plan to check in with myself quarterly to asses my progress towards my goal and realign myself if I find I am off track!

Good luck setting your 2017 goals! Wishing you a safe, healthy, and prosperous year!

++Cheers!
